New issue 3335 by [email protected]: $ matches fail after multi-line
regex/split
http://code.google.com/p/v8/issues/detail?id=3335
I hit this in node but it looks like a V8 issue since I can reproduce it in
the chrome console (See https://github.com/joyent/node/issues/7644):
function bad(s) { return s.split(/^/m).map(function(x) { return
x.replace(/\/\/.*$/, '').trim(); }); }
bad('// this works')
[ '' ]
bad('// this \n does // not')
[ '// this', 'does' ]
bad('neither\n//does\nthis\n')
[ 'neither', '//does', 'this' ]
The trailing $ in the replace fails to match the ends of the split
multi-line strings.
