You are right, according to ES5 this test case should indeed throw a
TypeError. This is specified in ES5.1 section 8.7.2 in step 7.a of the
special [[Put]] method that is to be used for primitive base values.
However in ES6 this behavior might have changed as the current draft does
not contain such a case any longer (or at least I wasn't able to find it).
This means chances are that we will not fix this in V8. I am keeping this
bug open until we have some confirmation that this is indeed an expected
change in semantics from ES5 to ES6.
