Comment #5 on issue 3347 by [email protected]: Optimization causes dart2js to fail in Try Dart
http://code.google.com/p/v8/issues/detail?id=3347

Bisecting Chrome versions on Linux x64 showed the following behavior:

36.0.1942.0 (263952) OK
36.0.1949.0 (264796) OK
36.0.1951.0 (265056) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265161) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265210) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265221) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265231) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265233) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265235) OK
36.0.1952.0 (265236) buggy
36.0.1953.0 (265422) buggy
36.0.1965.0 (266892) buggy
37.0.2013.0 (272700) buggy
37.0.2017.0 (273063) buggy
37.0.2018.0 (273188) buggy
37.0.2018.0 (273208) buggy
37.0.2018.0 (273215) OK
37.0.2018.0 (273223) OK
37.0.2019.0 (273247) OK
37.0.2019.0 (273351) OK
37.0.2021.0 (273615) OK
37.0.2028.0 (274519) OK

Bisecting the v8 further to determine what fixed Chrome:

21400 buggy
21469 buggy
21491 buggy
21499 buggy
21503 buggy
21505 buggy
21506 buggy
21509 OK
21541 OK

So https://code.google.com/p/v8/source/detail?r=21509 fixes the problem, but it's unclear yet if it merges back cleanly and which other CLs have to be backmerged, too.

There's another simpler CL (backmerges cleanly), which defensively fixes things: https://code.google.com/p/v8/source/detail?r=21830 The downside is that this regresses DeltaBlue by up to 10%.

Investigating what to do...
