As best as i can determine, there are several different community-side
efforts here which each appear to have their own following. For the
sqlite3 bindings (and ncurses bindings, which are also underway) i am
simply porting over older code which i implemented long ago for the
SpiderApe/SpiderMonkey framework. However, there appears to be several
different binding variants mentioned here:

all of which seem to have their own merits.
