the build succeeds, but i end up with two useless 10kb DLLs. Since the gyp
switch i have been unable to build usable DLLs:

What is the trick to getting the .so built?
Mint Linux (based on Ubuntu 11.04) on x64 w/ gcc 4.5.2.

that DLL is obviously missing "a few" symbols.
