Yes, it's not in the spec but are there ways and means to change this?

Will Javascript be stuck forever with 51/52/53 bits?

It would be great if V8 could support proper native 64-bit integers and perhaps 
encourage other engines to do the same.

Especially with the ubiquity of 64-bit elsewhere. It hampers common use cases, 
e.g. hashing, compression.
