Harvey, why don't you call Oasis RV (Airstream dealer) at 800-658-5863 in Tuscon?
On 9/15/00, I called Cliff after 4pm on Friday and asked for parts. He had them in
stock, took them
to UPS on his way home and I had them Saturday morning at 10am. In my opinion, this
was above and
beyond the call of duty. Cliff may or may not have what you want, but if he does, he
can get them
to you as promptly as you want.
On 10/23/00, we stopped at Oasis RV just to meet Cliff, check out the Oasis service
department and
meet the manangement staff. I found them to be a seasoned Airstream dealership with
extensive
knowledge about Vintage Airstreams. Just seeing their "parts" trailer (34' with no
windows and a
door on each side) is an experience in itself. A lot of thought and investment has
gone into serving
their clientele in an efficient and comprehensive manner.
While there, I decided to sample their service by having work done on my refrigerator.
It's now a
month later and the refigerator continues to work BETTER THAN IT EVER DID. Granted,
I've only done
business with Oasis on two occasions, but both times they showed a consistently strong
set of values
for meeting the needs of customers, telling the truth, doing the job right the first
time and
charging what I believe is a fair price for quality workmanship.

PS - 11/22/00 finds us in Desert Hot Springs, CA at Catalina Spa. This campground
tapped into an
underground hot mineral water source for their 10' x 20'jacuzzi. We had heard about
the beneficial
effects of Spas with natural hot mineral water and wanted to stay at one where we'd
have unlimited
use of it for a week. Both of us are leaning toward believing they may have a
therapeutic value. We
noticed there are no sulfides in the water to cause bad odor. The same water source is
used in the
olympic size pool (cooled to 80 degrees). If we were in the market, this could make an
excellent RPI
home park for us.
