Hi Gang,

Today, we stopped at the Oasis RV Airstream Dealer in Tuscon, AZ to have our furnace
cleaned. The
burner was almost completely clogged. I wish I had cleaned it in September before we
left, but I'd
never have done it in half an hour or known enough to check all the safety details.

Later this week, we'll be leaving the Airstream in Deming, NM while visiting in
Colorado Springs.
The furnace will be the critical variable to ensure that pipes don't freeze while
we're away. In the
past, we've avoided water line freeze up by using the catalytic heater when
temperatures were in the
25-27s for 18 hour periods.

This year, with the possibility of temperatures below 25 degrees for several days, we
wanted our
furnace fully operational. Our plan is to leave the silent 1200W electric heater on
thermostat
control while we're gone. If all goes according to plan, the furnace will come on only
as needed and
belly pan plumbing will stay warm.

While at Oasis, I asked for a fifth aluminum wheel to match the other four. Now, our
spare tire is
on an aluminum wheel. Indulgent? Perhaps.

Before we left Oasis, the Service Manager told me we could have left our Airstream
there for a week
while visiting our son in Colorado. That piece of information goes into our future
reference file.
Lastly, anyone looking for an old Argosy with a bed and the bath in the rear can find
one at Oasis.
They also have several 1960s Airstreams, a snazzy Square Stream and a new Airstream
with slide out.

Warm Holiday Wishes,
