I have also been considering my propane refrig. to two way or even add auto
start. The main thing that is required is heating the generator area of the
cooling unit. In my old unit it is done with a flame. In newer units it is
done with a flame or a heating coil held in close proximity to the
generator. I would like to know if anybody has tried mounting a heating coil
to an old style generator and how it works? Other than the coil you would
need a thermostat with a probe inside the box and an on off switch. I have
been looking at new refrigerators and it looks like the auto ignition and
burner could be adapted to an old unit, I have been looking for a doner unit
so I could try it. I would like to hear anybody else's ideas on this. Phil
