Hey Guys,

Keep in mind that I can help with publicity in the Blue Beret magazine if you title it
as a Vintage
Airstream Club Rally. I need three months lead time. But, don't call it a Unit Rally
or a State
Rally or a Regional Rally or a Co-Hosted Rally or a Bi-Unit Rally. My column can only
publicize the
genuine article. It must be a Vintage Airstream Club Rally organized and run by
Vintage Airstream
Club members, if it is to be included in the Blue Beret's Vintage Intra-Club column.

2 - Information about a Vintage Airstream Club Rally in a specific state and region
can also be
publicized by WBCCI State and Regional Chairmen who write the state and regional
columns. These are
in addition to publicity efforts by VAC Regional Representatives. Additionally, Unit
Newsletter
Editors may publish data about VAC events occurring in their local areas. There are
directories with
the names of all these people (and perhaps their email addresses). Compiling that data
into one
document would be a large project even with help from all WBCCI/VAC members, but the
results could
provide immediate access to all publicity players in WBCCI. The benefits of this are
obvious.

With a coordinated and well written publicity release, it would be relatively simple
to invite all
WBCCI members in a state or region to a Vintage Airstream Club Rally. Realistically,
it might be
smart to build a bit of redundant publicity into the effort to ensure broad coverage.
This would
take care of situations where an Editor was on vacation, or didn't get the word, or
hadn't yet been
appointed, or etc. etc..

3 - Many non-VAC WBCCI members "rally hop" with other WBCCI units on weekends when
their own home
unit doesn't have a rally scheduled. This frequently occurs with members of other
Intra-Clubs (full
timers, loners on wheels, etc). Their Editors need four months lead time. Often, rally
hoppers and
intra-club WBCCIers are the more enthusiastic members and are looking for scheduled
events where
they can use their Airstreams with other Airstreamers. The name of the game for them
is to have fun,
make friends, get involved and enjoy another adventure with their Airstreams. It
doesn't matter what
year their Airstream was built for that to occur or what part of the country the rally
is in. But,
it does matter that enthusiastic people have opportunities to get together and rub
shoulders - - -
if improvements and changes in WBCCI are to be discussed. VAC sponsored rallies may be
one way to
help that occur. All of WBCCI can benefit by increased involvement from its members.

And the beat goes on,

Terry
