When next at the library, you might look at the masthead for the February
to April 1936 issues of Popular Mechanics to see who is listed as a
contributing or staff writer. That might, or might not, give a clue to the
author of the unattributed trailer plan article. John Gartner wrote a few
how-to-build trailer articles in the 1930's, but I don't have a list of
those.
