In response to that very question several months ago I stuck my neck out
and said that very thing, that my understanding was that Airsteam was
taken over by Beatrice in late 1967, and was promptly corrected with
authority that it was in 1969.

My understanding also was that there were no substantive design changes 
made until the 1969 model year, which appears to be the case (at least 
with the Safaris).

I don't think where I got that was from your source, at least directly,
but the trouble was that I could not remember where I DID get it.
