Cheyanne, It is not necessary to reinvent the wheel. Wally Byam used an excellent system in many early rear bath trailers. He installed a convertible couch/bed along one wall that was called a gaucho. The frame or platform underneath would slide in toward the outer wall providing a platform approximately the size of a couch during the day and pull out at night to form a platform the size of a double mattress. The upholstery was two full length cushions dividing the mattress into one 76" section about 30" wide (couch bottom) and another about 18" wide (the couch back). Very practical.
