Susan, there is a way to pay for items on ebay with an escrow service,
and the service holds your money until you receive the product and are
satisfied.  It is mostly used for high dollar items as you might
imagine.  That might be a way to go.  But if it came down to losing
$3000 on a bad deal through ebay or risk being known as a
deadbeat...I'll take deadbeat any day:)
