I've investigated both re-plating and JetHot (baked-on aluminum coating) for my Globe Trotter script. The plater I found wanted about $250 to "do it right" (he wasn't willing to do it wrong), and Jet Hot says the zinc "Globe Trotter" script won't hold up to the high temps their process uses. My script is off, and the badly flaked chrome has been wet sanded down to smooth zinc on the face plane. Since my first 2 choices for a new finish have not panned out, I guess I'm back to trying the best shiny silver paint coating available. What is the best "chrome-look" spray finish available in aerosol? I will be re-installing the script such that I can periodically (several years, I hope) take it off and redo whatever finish I apply if needed. I'm thinking a good primer, followed by a good silver coat, possibly followed by a clear coat. All by aerosol. Recommendations? Thanks.
