cyclo, $214 - works great for heavy oxidation - I've
got proof. milwaukee polisher $189 works great for
heavy oxidation, and leaves swirls, I've got proof.
ultimately you've got to polish to know what works for
you... if you want to do it perfectly, you'll spend
$3k on the drum buffer gear and use friction polish
(i.e. burnishing bars, green ox) if you want to do it
unnoticeably close, you'll use a cyclo and Rolite or
Nuvite. if you want cheap, it'll look cheap, and you
might just want to go get some met-all, or mother's
and a box-a-rags.
I'd say I've spent 9 months polishing mine on weekends
- spent nearly $1k so far trying to get it perfect
(won't stop until it's at least close) and will also
say that next airstream I polish will be done inside a
month (weekends.)
so with that in mind - one who is asking for tips may
ask, and not listen (as I did) and find out the hard
way, which is in my experience the best way to learn,
or save some time and $ and learn from other's
mistakes - both are proven to work, both have thier
merits, it just depends on what you want out of it..
my goal is to join Wayne Moore as the Great Lakes
Division of Airstream Saviours. If you got one and
one is enough - I'd recommend just doing it right the
first time, and hitting the road as soon as
possible...
I guess those are my final thoughts on the topic.
