Jim, my experience with deep cycle marine batteries is they last about seven years. I 
believe a key
variable is that all my Airstreams have solar panels which keep the batteries fully 
charged every
day of the year. Typically, I buy the cheapest ones on the market at the time. 

When you decide what to do, start keeping a record. Who knows what you'll learn or how 
long before
you'll learn it.
