I'm new to the list, also, in the process of hunting for a suitable older
Airstream or Argosy. I plan to use my 1984 Ford diesel van as a tow
vehicle. My husband and I also have classic muscle cars. Our 2
Challengers, while powerful, are far to light to tow anything, as is our
1968 AMX (it too rocks at idle from a huge cam, like Andrea's convertible).

However, we have a huge old boat, a 1966 Chrysler 300. Currently it's not
running, but it's heavy and long enough to pull an Airstream easily. It's
got a '73 400 cubic inch engine at present. It needs work, but the body is
solid as a rock and the dash is beautiful. It could be had very
inexpensively at the moment. If anyone wants it...
