I'm not to sure about yours. But on my 66 Ambassadore the all I removed was bolts
forward and aft of the tank and the side rails (I only had one) stayed attached to the tank.
Mine was (is) in bad shape so I will be making new parts when I get ready to reinstall the tank.
I'm sure I'll be modify it some to simplify removal if I ever have to again.

Subject: [VAC] removal of black water tank shroud

Ok,
I hope someone on the list can help. I am trying to remove the sheet
metal shroud encasing the black water tank. I have been able to remove
(not very easy I might add) the front bolts but I can't seem to figure
out how to get to the side bolts which are deeply recessed in a narrow
space. The problem too is that the bolts are rusted (wd40 helps)and it
takes a vice grip to keep the bolt from spinning and a wrench to get the
square bolt down far enough to cut it off with a dremmel tool. It worked
great for the front  but I am stummped on the side bolts. And are there
bolts in the back? The square nut makes it difficult too.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Melanie

P.s. I have searched the archives and remember seeing something to this
effect, but can't find it now that I need it!
