Jill,
 Many RVs have catalytic ventless gas heaters. They're OK, but they do
make a lot of moisture (a natural byproduct of combustion) and use some
of the air from inside the rig. You must keep a window cracked to supply
air.

Yes, propane is GAS, but it's not quite the same as natural gas on a
technical level.
