Copper colored Silicone may last better there than Vulkem. Its supposed
to be good for exhaust pipes on cars but always fries in my old truck
with big gaps. Or muffler bandage sealant that is made of waterglass
(sodium silicate). It will handle higher temperatures but is not
flexible.
