Cooper sells ST tires with (narrow) white side walls, in a variety of sizes
and load range ratings.   I got a pair of ST225 R15's, load range D, for my
'63 Avion 20-ft (see attachment).  I think that they were 6-ply with an
8-ply rating, if that makes any sense.

If my memory serves me, by the 60's whitewalls were already beginning to get
narrow (like neckties...), so I think these are a good match for this
application.
