Congratulations!
regarding the rear-bath 'sag' - by 1976, i believe the problem had been
identified and remedied by the addition of frame-supports. These were
available for the earlier models as a 'retro-fix' kit. I'd be surprised if
they weren't original on yours.
There are some small 'table-top' 'swamp-coolers' out there - don't know if
they're 12Vdc, though.
