My '68 owner's manual that came with a Caravel has no instructions for a
pilot in the Caravel oven. Only 20' and up. I know a flint striker with
a long handle is normal equipment in my Caravel

Also the Caravel stove top has no pilot. I'm going for a walk with a
flashlight to take a look.
