Greetings fellow list members: I have just returned home after attending the outstanding WDCU Cherry Blossom Rally. It was well organized and well done by officers and members of the WDCU and in particular, by Clayton and Christi Rogers, who hosted the rally on their beautiful family horse farm and did most of the hard work required. My thanks to each of you who made the rally possible. Melissa (my daughter), and Porsche (female German Shepherd), and I had a great time and look forward to the next one. For those of you who weren't able to attend, I recommend it as a great rally to attend next year. The Cherry Blossoms were indeed beautiful. Many of the active participants who have written on both of the A/S lists were present and it was great to meet and talk with many who had previously been only internet acquaintances as well as other attendees from all over the eastern US and Canada. It was a great group and a fine collection of A/Ss. I was saddened by the unexpected and tragic death of Bill Scott on his way to attend the rally. It was Bill who recruited me to join the WDCU and helped motivate me to attend the rally. I had been looking forward to meeting and sharing stories with Bill and was stunned to learn of his death. I regret that I was unable to meet him in person. The Airstream family of owners and enthusiasts lost a good friend and a source of considerable knowledge regarding restoration of vintage Airstreams. Bill Scott will be missed.
