Nick,
That small red light is intended to tell you whether the shore power outlet
you are connected to is wired properly with the black wire hot, white wire
neutral, and green ground wire connected. I think it is called a polarity
indicator. I don't remember whether it glow red when the outlet is wired
properly or glows red to warn you. My owner's manual is in the trailer in
my shop several miles away. If I can remember to check, I'll tell you in a
day or two.
