I have to start assembling all my materials for restoration.
If anyone knows of a good source for sheet metal tools, I would appreciate a
heads up.
I am looking for clecos (temporary spring fasteners) cleco pliers, and hole
finders of different sizes.
For those that don't know what hole finders are, they slip under, and over the
"new" metal, and pick up an existing hole in the "existing" metal. Like tweezers...with
a bushing on top, and a nipple to fit into the existing hole on the bottom.
Essential for fitting new skins to old!
I wish I had kept all these old tools from when I worked at Sikorsky Aircraft...there
were plenty laying aound..now...they are like gold! <g>
I also need to replace a couple of my belly skins. What is the correct type
of aluminum?
