I just purchased a replacement lock from inland rv for my '68 ambassador.
Not cheap, but it is already modified with the long throw. It is based on
the Bargman 100 and comes keyed. I guess we pay for convenience.

Here is one source of door locks. (I am not affiliated in any way...)
http://www.mobile-mart.com/doorlock.htm
An internet search on the make/model of your lock will probably turn up
similar sites. Most RV service centers carry an assortment of locks, and
you might find one by calling around to your local locksmiths in the yellow
pages. They also are likely to be able to repair it, but you might have to
bring the trailer to their shop to save an extra charge for a house call.
