No floor can stand up to stilleto heels. A 1/4 " x 1/4" heel is only 1/16 of
a square inch hence a petitte 100 lb person just standing on one heel is
1600  [over 3/4 of a ton per square inch!] Pounds per square inch !!!  With
the dynamics of motion (walking) the pressure can be much greater.

Many of the laminate floating floors have square edges (Wilsonart for one)
as opposed to bevels which are common with most prefinished wood floor
products (strip and parquet) so you won't get the dirt collecting grooves.
