I did it on my icebox at the house. I didnt have to worry about the mitered corners...I took the 2 inches out of the center of the gasket and left the end parts alone.

I like the idea od modifying a gasket found at Home Depot or Lowes. Have you done this personally, or just heard of it being done? What would be the best adhesive to bind the mitered rubber corner(s) together.
