One, they do make quite a bit of noise naturally. Two, if you do not have a battery in 
the coach the converter will hum louder. The design of the converter requires a deep 
cycle battery in good
condition to be in the output circuit (as provided by Airstream) to operate properly. 
Not doing so will cause noise, both in the converter and the radio. It will eventually 
lead to accelerated
failure of the furnace motor and the converter it's self.
