Bob, Just a note on the subject; but some of the Airstream papers I bought a year or so ago, including a price list for 1956, has a page for shells only in all four length's. For instance: the 16' Caravel was priced Wholesale at $1695.00 / Retail at $2120.00. The shell price was $990.00 Wholesale and $1237.00 Retail. And, quoting verbatim: "NOTE: Shell comes with Running Gear, 6 Volt or 12 Volt Connector All running, Tail, Stop and directional Lights. Interior Wall - Painted in one of Airstream's 3 Zolatone Colors. With Linoleum on Floor. 110 Volt Wires Pig Tailed out of Inner Wall, but no Light Fixtures" All of this info will soon be available from the Airstream Archives, but thought you all might get a kick out of one instance.
