A note from the monitor.
Burning Man is not a VAC event.
Can you please describe what is a VAC event, what is the process
to nominate an event to be VAC and who determines what is and isn't?
Is there a URL you can direct us to for reference or are these
determinations of what is and isn't a "VAC event" made in a
secret, cabal-like fashion?
Are your "Travel Log xx/xx" series of posts detailing
VAC events? I count at least 10 of them in my inbox.
Our Burning Man threads totalled 17 posts, 11 of which were
actually about swamp coolers and not Burning Man at all. I believe
that things like swamp coolers and air conditioners are of general
interest to the VAC community, no matter what the thread's title
happens to be.
Please drop this discussion. Those of you who wish to continue it please take it off list.
I wouldn't have ever bought a vintage trailer had Burning Man's
extreme environment not demanded it. I chose (vintage) Airstream as my
platform because I believed that they were best equipped to withstand
year after year of these conditions and I hoped that I could engage my
peers on this list about the specific set of challenges the event
poses in hopes of learning how best to deal with them. I don't
currently use my trailer for anything other than Burning Man and I
know others in the same situation. This is my vintage trailer
application.
Is it time to start a separate "Wally Byam Burning Man
Caravan" mailing list (there, that sound VAC-like!) for those who
are interested? Bottom line is that I would love to encourage more
vintage trailer enthusiasts to go out there... maybe we can get enough
people out there for a "trailer park theme camp" someday.
Hee hee.
