3 rivets hold each hinge half - accessible from the top of the vent (scaffold or
ladder time). You drill them out from the top, and go back with pop-rivets. These are
the rivets that need to be checked monthly to prevent loosing your vent lid along the
hiway (that and closing it before traveling).
