Thanks for the info, Jim. I am not familiar with repacking bearings, but
read everything in the archive on the subject, which was sufficiently
complete to encourage me to dive right in. PLus I read the tech note on the
championtrailers web page.
The brake parts I'm working with are rusty and look like they could use
some lubing as you describe. But there's plenty of pad in the shoes.
