thesSouthbound lanes are affected for now. In mis-September, the
northbound lanes will be closed, through December.

Hi, Airstreamers:
Just a small travel warning: Beginning this weekend, and for the
next 11 weeks, 8 miles of Interstate 85 in SE Atlanta - between I-675 and
I-20 E, will be closed to traffic on weekends (from 9:00 pm Fridays to 5:00
am Mondays), for much-needed repairs. (I-675 is the "cutoff" for those
coming from, say, Florida on I-75 who want to get around Atlanta on I-285
E; it cuts off a few miles of the trip, as contrasted with continuing on
I-75 to I-285).
The result, I expect, will be backups both on I-75 S, northbound,
and on I-285 E, southbound. You might want to make alternative plans if
you simply *must* come through Atlanta (which I don't recommend to
