I have a Jordan Ultima 2020 controller. It's very smooth, no jerking and
holds adjustment with no problem. It is a progressive controller
controlled by a cable to the brake pedal. As you apply the brakes it
comes on. If in town and just slowing down slightly that is what it
does. If in a panic stop it applies the brakes hard. In other words you
control the trailer by how hard you apply the brakes. I have had several
controllers through the years and this is the best by far. The Jordan
and the Prodigy are supposed to be the best controllers on the market
today.

truck, since I may tow with it again some time. Plus new vehicle, needs
new controller, not new vehicle with old controller. So please give me
some info on this.

There was a vintage airstream 1977 (?) 31' at the Region XI Rally this past
week with a painted roof. Looked crummy. I have a pics if anyone is really
interested or wants to see why _not_ to mess up your trailer.
The owner traded it in on a new model, so I guess Joe Pershing will have it
for sale, or maybe salvage.

Nice to see you back on the list , I wondered where you`ve been .., glad the
hitch worked out for you , and Thanks to Charlie for turning me on to it . I wish I
had put a few more miles on it this season , but the trips I did take were nice and
safe ones . You dont have to travel far to have trouble , statistically . I`m a
happy customer....
One thing I have noticed is that the end of the bars which go into the head have
gotten a little beat , and that the clip thingys on the other end have worn some ,
but it may be because I dont tension the bars too tight as my trailer is so light .
But no more wear than other trunions would have I`m sure .
On an unrelated product report , my rv solarboost 2000e seems to have crapped
out , and one of my gell batterys has started to sort of cave in , it looks like
its sucked dry . I dont know which happened first , but the battery`s are deader
than a doornail . So that gives you an idea of how much I`ve used the trailer ( not
since end of july ) this year . I guess the mystery light came on ,( the switch
seems to think for itself ) , which would`nt be a problem if the solar was working ,
but it was`nt .
If it aint one thing its another . I plan on camping anyway this weekend , use
candles if I have too !

We have a Chevy Tahoe with the 5.3 L and a 3.73 gear. In tow haul mode it
holds the shift point to 2500 r.p.m., no matter the speed. Gives nice firm
shifts in the tow mode, it acted funny pulling from stoplights without it on,
it wanted to upshift too quickly. Overall we're very happy with it.

I've been using the Hayes-Lemmerz Micro control for about three years.
Its not always perfect, but its so compact I was able to mount it
between the steering wheel and the dash (shifter on the floor) and can
reach its control button with an extended finger while gripping the
wheel at 3 PM (on the wheel, not just that time of day). I bought the
remote control but have never used it.

Chris,
Towing with the EZ-Lift was nerve-wracking; the rig felt like the
friction anti-sway control was WAY too tight and/or the hitch ball was
siezed up. We sorta wandered from side to side, making it very tiring to
drive; it was bad enough that you could feel it from the passenger's seat.
The interesting thing is that I can adjust the EZ-Lift hitch on our
25-footer so it tows exactly the same as the 30-footer did. The worst
part is, adjusting the hitch "by the book" makes it worse. Tipping the
hitch ball to the rear, as recommended by the experts, makes the rig
wander, tipping it slightly forward makes it stable. The tension
adjustments on the spring bars (chain links) didn't seem to make a lot
of difference. The adjustment of the friction bar doesn't seem to have
much effect either, and I normally run that "not too tight".
Installing the Equalizer Hitch on the 30-footer made it tow like it
wasn't there. Hitching/unhitching works fine, but you do NEED a power
tongue jack. About the only thing I don't care for is the little bits &
pieces; had I kept that trailer and hitch, I'd have gotten a complete
set of spare parts in case of loss.
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles with the Solar Boost 2000. I'd been
considering one for our rig, but can't bring myself to mess with
something that's been working so well for 3 years now. <<grin>> If you
don't have an eMeter or equivilant, maybe you should consider it. Such a
meter would have tipped you to troubles before they got serious.

Does anyone know Alison White who has a '67 Ambassador? She wrote me
cuz she was real interested in getting some gaucho beds I really need to
get rid of and I can't seem to get a reply back to the email she sent
due to some glitch in her email to me. I hate to just burn these things
when someone could use them and they are just sitting under a tarp in my
driveway. This isn't an ad or anything.I really want to help her out cuz
she's going to be in Atlanta in Nov and wanted to pick them up..so I'm
just asking on A/S lists to try and find her if that' OK.?
I'm glad to be back on this list after a month+ long hiatus when my
computer blew up with sparks and smoke..and now it's cool enough here
for us to really get to work on this big aluminum lawn ornament we have
sitting outside in our driveway!!!
We finally got brakes and now we are pondering having a new metal box
fabricated for the rusty one that sorta holds the leaky holding tank. A
bit of welding is needed on that and on the back bumper and we can start
on the fun stuff inside. I have ordered the 4 windows so I get to
remove all the plastic and duct tape..gonna miss that classy duct
tape!!! Gave it a real "trailer trash look"!!! And it matches the
aluminum so well....it's just as shiny as my finish is!!!
I could ask here..do we have to remove the inside floor to get to the
holding tank or can it be done from underneath? The build up of rust
sorta disguises the evidence to us and the welder didn't know. He's a
guy who works on welding trailers. We want to do as much prep before he
works on it as we can. Has anyone here ever had one of these made? Can
one be ordered and bolted in or are they always welded in?

Reminds me - I saw a " motivator " built by cayo like the truck
camper type but mounted on a dodge van like a class 3 . The sheet metal
extended to the bottom of the chassis . I`m glad I didnt see it first
when it was for sale , I`ve got too many projects now - without taking
on a dodge from the seventys ! but it sure looked neat .

Jim and all ,
I know what you mean about parts and pieces , I keep extra clips around for when I
hurry
too much unhitching , sometimes I run around in a frenzy even when I`m supposed to be
relaxing on a joy ride ... lose stuff that way .
Not slanderizing solar boost 2000e , it just broke I guess , has been good for two
years now . Might have something to do with the battery going bad first ?, one was all
misshapen - like a vacuum was inside . The controller has an emeter built in so you can
keep eye on charge , I just was`nt paying attention - Busy around here this year .
The solar boost is like another panel practically what with the extra amps they put
out - much better than a trace or others , so its said . I`ll be replacing it with
another
. . Also working on another trailer off and on , and dreaming up another solar array
for it
when the time comes , maybe with my solar awning idea this time - but its gonna be
awhile
at this pace . Time and money ....
