While I had the old directory structure in place, Vagrant would hang on every command I tried (init, box add, up) would hang forever without outputting a single thing. I renamed .vagrant (was that necessary) and .vagrant.d, and everything worked perfectly right out of the chute. I had a couple of plugins installed, but I removed them, and that didn't make any difference. I migrated from 1.4.3. So now I have the issue of getting at the boxes in the old tree, and so far I haven't found the magic sauce to specify that a box is living in there somewhere.
