Howdy,
I use mostly CentOS 6.x guests, VirtualBox and by simply assigning a
private_network IP and a .local hostname, avahi-daemon will broadcast
the mDNS on Mac OS X, no trouble there. The guests can reach each
other as well as be reached from the host.
web1.vm.hostname = "gitlab.local"
web1.vm.network "private_network", ip: "192.168.50.11"
On Windows 8.1, having installed Bonjour from apple.com, a lookup from
the host to any of the boxes results in an IPV6-formatted address, not
the expected IPV4. CentOS boxes still resolve each-other's IPV4
addresses.
Would anyone know where I might start looking? I'm vaguely aware that
on recent versions of Windows, "disabling IPV6" is not something to be
done lightly, nor should it be unbound from an adapter under normal
circumstances...but that's about it.
Thanks,
Eugene
