Hello! 1. I'm hoping to switch over to Vagrant to manage both the local dev and public production versions of a Drupal site on DigitalOcean. I've read the Vagrant and DigitalOcean docs on using the DigitalOcean Vagrant plugin, but I'm confused about how to set up a local dev site and a public production site with both-direction syncing between them (i.e. I want to be able to move stuff from dev to production, but also move from production to dev since the live site will have user-generated content in the database). I'm new to Vagrant, so could really use some pointers to n00b-friendly instructions.
2. I'm also a bit confused about the basic workflow for working on a local dev Vagrant site without accidentally losing my work= what's the series of commands I use to save my work on the dev site/avoid losing work if I close my vagrant box, command-line GUI/Terminal, or shut off my laptop? Could anyone recommend some tutorials that might help with these questions?
