It appears it is still using 2.0.0:
$ /opt/vagrant/embedded/bin/ruby -v
ruby 2.0.0p598 (2014-11-13 revision 48408) [universal.x86_64-darwin12.5.0]
I'll try that other syntax and see if I can get it working...thanks!
