what happen if you don't specify the config.vm.guest part?
Vagrant File:
Vagrant.configure(2) do |config|
config.vm.box = 'UbuntuMate1404LTS-pristineB'
#config.vm.guest = :linux
config.vm.define 'SDL-VM-UbuntuMate1404B'
config.vm.provider :virtualbox do |vb|
