Thanks, Alvaro. I tried deleting the entire ~/.vagrant.d directory and 
others to no avail. I finally ended up rebuilding the box with Packer and 
so far that seems to have done the trick. I don't know what I did to screw 
things up so badly, but they seem to have been reset now.
