However I would like to point out that the folder "*restricted"* lies in the same path where I have previously set the "dmode=775,fmode=664". hmmm so I want to set the permissions "dmode=775, fmode=664" down the folders /vagrant/www/myproject/ and then set the permissions "dmode=740,fmode=640" in the folder *restricted* which lies here /vagrant/www/myproject/*restricted/*. So which vagrant commands would let me selectively target only the "*restriced" *folder in this path and not change the permissions for the entire path ? Sorry if I misunderstood something in your previous reply. I am very new to vagrant and I believe that changing permissions through vagrant changes them all down the path.
