Greetings List Lurkers,
As promised please find attached the minutes of the meeting like thing
that was held yesterday in Burlington, Josh Sled, Tony Carrico and Paul
Flint attended.
The two memorable things discussed at this meeting were:
1.) The dismal disarray of our meeting plans
2.) Reieser file system developments
Further along after some quaffing, we resolved at this meeting that
- The next meeting shall be on 21 November at Waterman
- We need a Targeting notices Shell script to notify folks and media
about the VAGUE meetings.
The basic idea here is a cron job that sends out notices to members of the
list, Local Papers (BFP, 7Days, Times Argus), College and University
Papers, and even a check list of bulletin boards and etc.
To build such a thing we need to have specific knowledge of the submission
requirements of these free notice services. I am going to try the Times
Argus. The idea is a shell script that sends out a notice in the local
acceptable form at the proper time to the proper address. The tools of
choice are bash, mailx, crontab.
We need help in the form of specific members of the VAGUE community that
has knowledge of the sources and methods of free notices. Please get back
to me and this list regarding any insight you might have in this area.
- Also, I got tagged to organize the 21 November meeting. Anybody want
to present?
