Montpelier facilities..?
1) Kellogg Hubbard Library maybe?
2) Bear Code offered last time - I was consulting with them for a while
but I think they found a full time person and hired, so I'm not really
connected to them at the moment.
3) I might be able to talk my office into offering a conference room...
4) National Life must have the space for the meeting - any one work
there?
5) Tom Cort might be able to drum up some space at the State Dept. of
Tax.
6) The IT guy for NECI is a UNIX nerd - he might be able to get us a
NECI training room or something, but I don't really know how to reach
him.

I realize there are more ideas than concrete paths to follow, but I'll
at least as my supervisors what they think about hosting the meeting
here, and if there is interest in using Bear Code, I can contact them.

Subject: Jul 17th meeting summary; Aug/Sep meeting planning

VAGUErs...

Last night we met in the Mac Lab for our July meeting. Some regular
faces were missing, but a couple of new faces were in attendance; thanks
to all those that attended! :)

We ended up having two presentations. Andrew talked about MySQL [1],
setting up a JDBC connection to MySQL in OpenOffice, and finished with
an overview of views, functions, stored procedures, cursors and
transactions. I talked about REpresentational State Transfer (REST)
[2], an architecture for networked information systems such as the world
wide web. Forest was all ready with his presentation on Django, but
Andrew and I consumed all the time
available. Apologies to Forest. He's graciously offered to deliver
the
same talk at the next meeting...

...we talked briefly about if we should have a meeting in August or
September, but didn't really come to a consensus. Does anyone else want
to volunteer to present for the next meeting?

I'm going to investigate location options for having the meeting in
Montpelier. If anyone can offer or suggest a facility, please do!

We also had a couple of different problems brought before the group in
the meeting, which points to perhaps having that as the focus of some
future
meeting: bring your (description of a) problem, and let the group try to
find a solution.
