Heh, I see at least one of our members has had time to place a bid, on
what I consider to be one of the more excellent items:

http://wethepeoplevt.us/items/41/

Now, far be it from me to suggest that Mr. Tambasco should not get
this prize for himself, but it seems to me that what VAGUE needs is a
good Latin motto. You know, something we can set in marble when we
found a FLOSS-y school, or at least something we can put in our
collective .sig.

I suppose it is probably highly unethical for me, as site
administrator, to make any more specific suggestions of collusion; but
perhaps our share-alike mentality can be leveraged into some tangible
$TERMs we can agree on for acquiring this fine item?

(Sorry, I really can't help myself here. Please feel free to out-BASH me.)

As for lawyers, I'm with Tony T.: the problem is not that we have too
many lawyers (in the more general sense of "people who know and care
about the law"), but that we have too few; hence their knowledge is at
a premium; hence they wield great power; and hence it corrupts. Maybe
if more people actually read the Constitution, for example, we
wouldn't be in such a ridiculous position today with respect to the
copyright, patent and "intellectual property" laws that have
necessitated the Free Software movement...
