I will eventually get around to making my via c7 the firewall/vpn box. the hardware aes kicks ass. including a desktop hdd and 300w powersuply from a desktop the via C3 averaged 42 wats startup went to 83 due to spinup of the hdd. If I had a lt hdd im sure it would have been lower. I havent goten around to seeing what the c7 is power wise iirc the processor its self is like 7-17wats

Im going to get 2 or 3 more for the house so that the kitchen can have a station and the living room. Ill set up a media server and be able to watch dvd's etc all through the house. take a look at logicsuply.com they have a phylon based board that is nice. it has a addon header so you can add 3 gig nics plus the pci slot. cant remember if they had toe or not. you can get a pci riser to add 2 I may have seen one with 3 pci slots. there are some amd/intel mini boards that have 2 onboard pci but most of the via based are 1 with posibly a minipci or pcmcia slot on the media based board.

I was taking a look at one of those the other day, I like that it's very low power (electricity I mean)...
