I have a couple of job openings that could have some interested people here but I'm not sure if this is the best venue for the skills we need. They really are fantastic opportunities for growth. For those who are and/or considering looking, check the text file attached for a quick-and-dirty description of what we do.

A handful of people on this list are working for TelJet clients already... I don't really want to poach anyone but will consider above-board discussions to keep things cool.

Anyway, ping me if you know of anyone who could fit the bill.

Cheers,
-Dave

TelJet is a fiber optic construction firm that has focused on leading Vermont
into radically new telecommunications services. Existing providers have left
"holes" in the market and TelJet has done well to fill the voids; so well we
need additional staff to help us with outside builds, electronics management,
and a handful of mundane labor. We have some excellent bleeding edge projects
that need talent to help grow and flourish.

We are looking for two full-time people that are multi-talented and comfortable
in the barely-controlled chaos of a fast-paced startup company, even though we
have been around for seven years. Our openings cover a broad set of skills for
two full-time positions, showing an aptitude in:

 - Outside plant construction
 - Fusion fiber splicing
 - Cisco hardware, especially 6509 and 7609 models
 - IP routing and switching (BGP)
 - Large server farms with virtualization
 - Electrical wiring, including telco-grade 48V DC
 - Project management, construction and Fairpoint applications
 - General construction (this is a small workload)

and desire to learn as much as possible. Being a very small and intense shop,
prospects should be comfortable with a multi-role, multi-tasking work style. A
lot of independence is part of the gig, but with that comes responsibility,
personal growth, and accomplishment. Bringing a sense of humor and candor with
them helps weather through the tough days and earn the respect of the outside
plant contractors. =)

Time schedules are flexible as long as work load gets completed and any hard
time commitments are met. No slackers or obstructors allowed in the clubhouse,
but we will train-to-suit as needed. We are cross-trained as much as we can to
ensure our shop has the broad base of skills available to any on-call shifts
and cover for vacations, holidays, etc.

We are looking at the 6-8 week timeframe for openings, even though we could
really use folks today.

Please contact me if you come across someone who is interested and available.

Cheers,
-Dave Storandt
