General Description Reporting to the Network Operations Systems Engineering, Team Lead or Manager, the Sr. Systems Engineer will be based in the Lexington, MA, and will act as part of a team responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining all Systems and Applications within the Gomez Production Network. Responsibilities Implement, administer and maintain large-scale server environment. Document all aspects of the Net Ops Systems Engineering Team. Field case escalations from other Operations or Development teams. Find, diagnose and troubleshoot problems to limit unscheduled product downtime. Maintain System integrity with Patch Management, Configuration Management and Change Management Processes. Triage and prioritize work as needed or directed by Team Lead or Manager. Provide knowledge transfer to other team members and other teams. Coordinate troubleshooting efforts with other team and vendors. Provide occasional off hours and/or weekends support. Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss problems, processes, etc. Requirements 5+ years experience working in a fast-paced, large scale network environment. Technology-focused bachelors degree, certification (MCSE, MCSA, RHCE, RHCT) or commensurate experience. Experience in a large Microsoft Network Environment (Active Directory, WINS, Group Policy, Clustering, Security and Patch Management). Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux. (Patching, Imaging, Apache, Linux Security). Working Knowledge of other Microsoft technologies (SMS, WSUS, IIS, FTP). Solid understanding of TCP/IP, with the ability to deploy and troubleshoot TCP/IP within a Windows environment. Proven problem diagnostic, problem-solving and multitasking abilities. Dependability, self-motivation, sense of responsibility. Strong communication skills (oral and written). Desire to learn new technologies. Additional Skills and Experience Preferred Advanced understanding of DNS technologies. Linux and Windows. System automation scripting experience with Perl or VB Scripting.
